Is the Ecollar Included?
The Ecollar is not included but there are resources on which one to buy depending on the Temperament and Size of your dog.
Can I use the Ecollar I have?
This style of training encourages you to use the Least amount of Ecollar pressure as possible. Therefore, the recommended brands are Ecollar Technologies or Dogtra. Anything with less than 50 levels is not ideal.
Is there Community support?
I've intentionally not included a community group here because you need One Expert giving you guidance rather than people's opinions who have been training for a couple of weeks. If you need extra help you can add on 1:1 Zoom calls (30mins or 1hr) at a discounted rate ($75/30mins).
The program is very thorough and most people don't need this unless it's a behaviour modification issue they want my opinion on. Otherwise, you'll be able to do this without additional help.
Does this work for a Multiple dog house?
Yes. Ecollar tech, for example, has a 1/2 dog remote or a remote that does up to 4 dogs. Each dog wears a collar that is connected to a specific button. Collars can be colour coordinated with the button on the remote (red collar, red button).
This just means you will need to practice the remote more as seen in the videos. I personally have 4 dogs on one remote and they all work at different levels.
At first, you'll need to train each dog individually. 3-5 mins, 3-5x day. Keeping in mind you can only press one button at a time, in a week or two, you can train them all together.
What is the system?
The idea is to use the Ecollar like a leash. Ask for the behaviour, apply the pressure, release the pressure, reward with food/toy/praise/etc.
Ecollars are NOT magic. If your dog does not know what you want, tapping the button won't teach them. That's why we use a system like I show you so there is clear communication first.
How long does my dog need to wear the collar?
That depends on your dog's personality and how risk adverse you are.
3 of my 4 dogs could go without an Ecollar in 90% of environments are listen to me with 95% accuracy. 1 of them is just too... spicy / independent.
However, I want 100% security, 100% of the time. Therefore, when we go off leash, the Ecollars go on. I think of it like my seatbelt when driving. Mostly I do need it. But when I do, I'm glad it's there!
